H.S. Baseball Roundup: Scotia-Glenville tops Broadalbin-Perth, 8-3

SCOTIA - Dan Zeglen went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, lifting Scotia-Glenville to an 8-3 win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council baseball game Monday.

Zeglen also earned the win on the mound, allowing four hits and striking out six in 6 innings of work.

Scotia-Glenville scored six runs in the first inning on its way to the victory.

Anthony Musto was 2-for-3 for the Tartans (12-6 overall, 10-3 Foothills), while Tom Militano added a triple.

Anthony Visco was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Broadalbin-Perth (11-7 overall, 7-6 Foothills), while Tim Gordon had a single and an RBI. Patrick Brown had the only other hit for the Patriots.

QUEENSBURY - Charlie Peltz threw his third straight no-hitter, leading Queensbury to a shutout win over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

Peltz struck out 15 on his way to the complete-game victory.

Zack Parsons had two hits for Queensbury (13-4 overall,11-2 Foothills), while Peltz and Joe Marasco each had a double.

Hudson Falls slipped to 3-12 overall and 1-12 in Foothills Council play.

GALWAY -Sam Uline had two singles and a home run as Galway had 19 hits in a WAC North Division win over Mayfield.

Evan Ceroalo had two singles and a double for Galway (7-10 overall, 7-8 WAC), while Tyler Bailey, Rob Baron, Steve Garney, Taylor Hartman and Zac Hartman each had two singles.

Taylor Hartman earned the complete-game victory for the Golden Eagles, striking out eight and allowing two hits.

Jordan VanNostrand and Riley Yager each had singles for Mayfield (4-13 overall, 4-11 WAC)

Winsman finished with nine strikeouts and one walk on his way to the complete-game victory.

Zach Bowerman had a two-run double for Canajoharie (9-6 overall, 9-6 WAC), while Zach Ouderkirk was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Johnny Vicciarelli had the lone hit for St. Johnsville (6-11 overall, 4-11 WAC), which is scheduled to host Mayfield on Wednesday.

Schoharie sweeps Mekeel Christian

SCOTIA - Schoharie won both games of its WAC South Division doubleheader with Mekeel Christian Acdemy.

In the first game, Rob Henry and Cole Chase each had two singles and two RBIs for Schoharie in an 8-2 win.

In the second game, Schoharie scored five times in the first inning on its way to a 9-2 win.

Aaron Valvo had two hits and two RBIs for Schoharie (10-6 overall, 10-4 WAC), while Devn Brooks had a two-run single. Rich Martino added two hits for the Indians.

Mekeel Christian slipped to 9-7 in WAC play with the losses.

Baylee Hall and Anthony Sinicropi each went 3-for-4 with three singles and two RBIs for FFCS (8-7 overall, 7-6 Colonial), while Pat Hart was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Kevin Myers had two doubles for the Braves, while Zack Valachovic added a single and two RBIs. Zak Shaw had a double for FFCS.

Josh Tusang was 4-for-5 with two RBIs for Cobleskill-Richmondville (3-15 overall, 1-13 Colonial), while Seth Billington and Brad Kueberle each had two singles.

The Rams scored four times in the bottom of the sixth and withstood a rally by Albany in the seventh to earn the win.

Dylan Angelo earned the complete-game win for Amsterdam (10-7 overall, 8-6 Big 10), allowing four hits, striking out one, walking eight and hitting a batter.

Albany slipped to 7-7 in Big 10 play with the loss.

WELLS - Caleb Hayes pitched a two-hit shutout, leading Wells to a win over Keene.

Ben Brenan had six RBIs for Wells (9-2 overall, 9-2 MVAC), while Adrian Collado had a triple, double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Matt Michienzi had two hits, while Logan Hutchins added a double and scored a run for the Indians.
