H.S. Softball Roundup: Queensbury routs Johnstown, 15-1

JOHNSTOWN - Alyssa Sparacia had a home run and three singles, powering Queensbury to a 15-1 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council softball game Thursday.

Britt LaPlant, Rachel Molloy and Brooke Meader also homered for the Spartans (14-4 overall, 11-3 Foothills). Queensbury scored 10 runs in the third inning on its way to the win.

Katie Shevlin, Lindsey Ziegler, Sarah O'Brien and Amy Zuccaro each had two singles apiece for Queensbury.

Morgan Colasanti had a home run for the Lady Bills.

Johnstown (6-13 overall, 3-11 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Monday for a 4:30 p.m. game.

Hudson Falls 8, Scotia-Glenville 7

HUDSON FALLS - Nicole Sheloski plated the winning run with a double in the bottom of the 11th inning, lifting Hudson Falls to a win over Scotia-Glenville.

Sheloski finished 4-for-6 with two doubles and two RBIs for Hudson Falls (10-4 overall, 10-4 Foothills), while Meghan Barton and Geneva Strong each had three hits.

Scotia-Glenville slipped to 12-7 overall and 8-6 in Foothills Council play.

NEW YORK MILLS - New York Mills scored seven runs in the third inning on their way to a win over Dolgeville.

The Marauders also scored five times in the sixth inning on their way to the win.

Dolgeville slipped to 3-15 overall with the loss.

WELLS - Gabby McNally had three singles, leading Minerva-Newcomb to a win over Wells on Wednesday.

Ashley Miller added a double and two singles for the Lady Mountaineers.
