Louis F. Walker III, 65, of Kunz Road, Broadalbin, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at home.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 29, 1947, a son of Louis and Beverley Johns Walker and was educated there. Mr. Walker moved to upstate New York in 1995, residing in Broadalbin since 2000.
Lou worked with the Ringling Bros. Circus in Florida prior to enlisting in the Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Later, he was a pipefitter with Local No. 1021261 in Schenectady.
Lou was a member of the American Legion and the VFW, both of Broadalbin, and a member of the NRA. He was an animal lover and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and nature. Lou enjoyed baseball and was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan.
Survivors include a brother, William (Gynelle) Walker of Spring Valley, Calif.; a sister, Irene (Karl) Jindra of Parma, Idaho; his good friend, Lynda Rusk of Amsterdam; and a niece and a nephew.
A military service will be held on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106, Johnstown.
