Inclement weather forced the postponement of last weeks Section II Group 2 track and field championships and several baseball games Friday, leading officials to revamp the schedule for the postseason championships.
The Johnstown Sir Bills were scheduled to play the winner of Friday's already rain-delayed game between Hudson and Saratoga Catholic Central. The game was rained out and was played Sunday with No. 7 Hudson upsettingthe second-seeded Saints 4-3.
The Class B semifinal games, originally scheduled to be played at Albany's Bleecker Stadium, have been moved to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Veterans Field in Saratoga Springs.
The top-seeded Fort Plain Hilltoppers earned a semi-final berth Thursday and are scheduled to play the winner between Hoosic Valley and Greenwich. The game was postponed from Friday to Sunday with Hoosic Valley picking up the 4-2 nine-inning win.
The other Class C quarterfinal game between No. 15 Mechanicville and No. 10 Voorheesville was postponed from Friday and played today at 4 p.m. at Voorheesville.
The semifinal games originally scheduled for 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam have been moved to Tuesday at 4 and 7 p.m. at Shuttleworth.
The dates of the championship games, all scheduled for Joe Bruno Stadium at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, also have been moved.
The Class B title game will be played Wednesday at 4 p.m. followed by the Class A title game at 7 p.m.
The Class D championship game will now be played Thursday a 4 p.m. followed by the Class C title game at 7 p.m.
The Class AA championship game has been moved to 7 p.m. Friday at Joe Bruno Stadium.
Friday's Section VII Class D quarterfinal game between No. 4 Wells and No. 5 Moriah was postponed and rescheduled for 4 p.m. today with the winner advancing to play top-seeded Chazy on Tuesday at Chazy.
The Section VII Class D title game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Plattsburgh State.
The Section II Group 2 track and field championships were postponed from Thursday to Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School due to threatening weather.
