H.S. Baseball Roundup: Albany Academy edges B-P

ALBANY - Albany Academy starter Ben Brown went the distance, giving up two hits and striking out 12 to advance the Cadets to the Class B quarterfinals with a 2-1, 11-inning win over Broadalbin-Perth on Tuesday.

Luigi Magliocca and Anthony Payne delivered Broadalbin-Perth's hits, both singles.

Albany Academy's Trevor Franseconi was the lone player with multiple hits as he had a single and a double.

The Cadets (12-8 overall) move on to play top-seeded Chatham (14-4 overall) Thursday at 4 p.m.

The Patriots finish their season with a 9-9 overall record after going 7-7 in the Foothills Council.

Hudson 4, Fonda-Fultonville 1

HUDSON - The Braves jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead, Hudson rallied for a pair of runs in the second and third innings to pick up the victory.

Anthony Sinicropi had an RBI triple for the Braves, while Baylee Hall singled and scored and Clyde Sammons singled for the Braves.

Duanesburg 7, Canajoharie 6 (8)

DUANESBURG - The Cougars held sixth-seeded Duanesburg to three hits, but one of them was a game-tying, two-out, two strike seventh-inning grand slam by Henry Holmes. The Eagles picked up the victory in the bottom of the eighth on an error.

Zach Ouderkirk led No. 11 Canajoharie with a two-run home run. The Cougars finished the season with a 13-8 overall record after posting a 10-6 Western Athletic Conference mark.
