Mrs. Dziewit was a continuing-education student, and after years of evening classes, she graduated magna cum laude in 1995 from Fulton-Montgomery Community College. She was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She enjoyed the classical studies.

Dorothy enjoyed swimming and competed successfully in state and regional senior swim meets. She also enjoyed golf, skiing, bicycling, flower gardening and live theater. Her greatest delight was that her grandchildren lived close, affording many trips together and frequent family dinners and parties. Each grandchild received a letter each week when away at college.
