MAYFIELD - The village has issued a boil-water advisory for all residents due to repairs at the village's water tower.
Mayor Jamie Ward said repairs to the tower necessitated the need to issue the advisory. Tests will be given every 24 hours until the water is deemed clean enough for use, he said.
"In no way do we like to issue a boil water to cause headaches," Ward said.
Ward said the advisory will not affect the Bannertown Fair, which is ongoing through today.
The mayor said tanker trucks have been placed at the fair and the Mobil station in the village to provide water to residents. No food stalls will need to be closed, he said.
"It is just going to be a hassle to boil from a timing stand point," Ward said, necessitating the tank.
