On Aug. 9, we had a benefit for Donald W. Morgan to help with medical bills and upcoming medical costs. Donald had his voice box removed in June after battling cancer for a year. He also lost his sense of taste and smell.
The benefit was a success and I would like to thank everyone who gave gift certificates and gifts for the Chinese auction. There were many and I would like to say thank you from my heart. There are too many to thank individually.
In addition, I want to thank Ed Cole, Chris King and John Walters for being the cooks; and Elaine Huszar, Karen Deming and Danielle Deming for waitressing. Judy Sinnott was the ticket taker and Sandra King sold auction tickets and was the ticket caller. Thank you to Helen Tooley for printing fliers and tickets.
Thanks to the Edinburg fire department for use of the building, the Sammonsville fire department for ice and to the Sacandaga Helping Hands for donating all the food and drinks.
Many thanks to my family, Ray, Sis, and Tom Simpson, Don and Flora Ernst, Sandy and Chris King, Helen Ferguson, Butch and Angie Dimick and George and Greg Dimick. Also, thanks to Michelle Harding for her special baked goodies.
My son, Donald, and his family, my husband, Edward, and myself extend our deepest appreciation and thanks to everyone who had a part in making this a success.
If I have left anyone out, it was unintentional.
