H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Johnstown sweeps Hudson Falls

JOHNSTOWN - Jerica Holland recorded 15 assists and six kills, leading Johnstown to a 3-0 sweep of Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council volleyball match Wednesday.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-22.

Annie Stock finished with 11 digs and nine kills for Johnstown (6-1 overall, 5-0 Foothills), while Bri O'Rourke had four blocks.

Katie Clouse had 15 assists for Hudson Falls (4-3 overall, 2-3 Foothills), while Kacey Rosenblum posted five kills. Geneva Strong added six digs for the Tigers.

Broadalbin-Perth 3, Glens Falls 0

BROADALBIN - Maddie Gurga finished with nine assists, five kills and two solo blocks, leading Broadalbin-Perth to a sweep of Glens Falls in a Foothills Council match.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-9, 25-15 and 25-14.

Chelsea LeBlanc had five kills and two blocks for B-P (3-2 overall, 3-2 Foothills), while Gabby Smith added eight assists.

Kiersten Squires had 12 assists for Glens Falls, while Rachel Lashway posted seven kills.

South Glens Falls 3, Scotia-Glenville 0

SCOTIA - Emma Saxton had 11 kills to lead South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council win over Scotia-Glenville.

The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-23, 25-17 and 25-20.

Melissa Hutchins finished with five blocks and three kills for South Glens Falls, while Kosaundra Kreppin had nine service points and six kills. Kassy McDonald added 18 assists for the Bulldogs.

Jena Samson had 14 service points and four kills for Scotia-Glenville, while Morgan Adams added 15 assists.

WAC

Fort Plain 3, Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 2

FORT PLAIN - Brandy Walters had 13 kills, 13 assists and 12 service points to lead Fort Plain to a win over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

The Lady Hilltoppers won by scores of 25-17, 22-25, 20-25, 25-14 and 25-19.

Shawna Cotton had 24 assists, 19 service points, five aces and three digs for Fort Plain (3-2 overall, 3-2 WAC), while Cheyann Walters had 14 kills and eight service points.

Emily Potter had six digs, five points, two blocks and two aces for Fort Plain, while Alexis Hagadorn had 10 service points and four aces.

Shamrin Flanders had 10 digs, four kills, four aces and four blocks for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (1-5 overall, 1-4 WAC), while Shelby McCumber had six assists, five digs, four aces and four kills. Katie Pabis added nine digs, six kills and two aces for the Lady Wolves.

Colonial Council

Fonda-Fultonville 3, Lansingburgh 0

LANSINGBURGH Miranda Nethaway finished with nine service points, five kills and five aces to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a sweep of Lansingburgh.

The Lady Braves won by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-8.

Cory Lais had 14 points, seven aces and two kills for FFCS (5-1 overall, 5-1 Colonial).

Lansingburgh slipped to 1-5 in Colonial Council play with the loss.
