JOHNSTOWN - Residents of Fulton County who are interested in hunting on a certain parcel of Johnstown watershed property may fill out an application with the city Water Board, according to a news release.
The board has received hunting tags from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation 2013 Deer Management Assistance for antlerless deer, according to the release.
Applicants must complete a form and provide a valid hunting permit and driver's license to be eligible for the lottery drawing for a tag. The drawing will take place at the Oct. 14 Water Board meeting. The applications are available at the Water Department office, 27 E. Main St., from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 1 through 11. The completed applications must be submitted to the clerk of the Water Board by 10 a.m. Oct. 14, the news release said.
Preference will be given to residents of the city of Johnstown. All hunters awarded tags will have to sign an agreement with the city prior to receiving the tag.
Hunters will be provided with a map of the hunting area, the news release said.
