FMCC volleyball goes 0-3 in pod play

HERKIMER - The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women's volleyball team went 0-3 in pod play Saturday at Herkimer County Community College.

Monroe Community College defeated FMCC 3-1 by scores of 25-22, 15-25, 25-22 and 25-20.

Finger Lakes Community College topped the Lady Raiders, 3-1, by scores of 5-12, 25-22, 16-25 and 25-17.

Corning Community College posted a 3-0 win over FMCC by scores of 25-10, 26-28 and 25-16.

Whitney Ostrander (Mayfield) ended with 34 kills, 17 blocks, five digs and three aces for the Lady Raiders, while Sarah Wyzomirski (Fonda-Fultonville) had 28 kills, 15 blocks, six digs and two aces.

Caitlyn Hayward (Johnstown) recorded 104 digs, two kills and two aces on the day for FMCC, and Liz Hayward (Johnstown) had 60 digs and seven kills.

FMCC (8-9 overall) will host Mohawk Valley on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
