"There is always the concern that you are going to play down if a team isn't playing up to your level," Fonda-Fultonville coach Pat Mancini said. "The game was kind of slow today; we play a much better game when it is a faster, harder hitting game. So it was sometimes hard to keep them up a moving. We struggled a bit with our passing against Schalmont, so that was our goal today to make sure our passes were up inside the attack line and the setter had more choices, and for the most part, we did that."
Cory Lais posted 11 service points, six aces and three kills for FFCS (11-3 overall, 11-3 Colonial).
The Lady Braves are now third in the league standings behind Voorheesville and Schalmont.
"We are trying to move forward," Mancini said. "We have Albany Academy this week, then Voorheesville and then the Guilderland Tournament where we are looking at all A and AA schools. I like to go there to get ready for sectionals."
Alaina Thaxter registered five kills and two blocks for Cobleskill-Richmondville (6-8 Colonial), while Taylor Stack had seven assists.
