H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Lady Bills sweep past South High

JOHNSTOWN - Annie Stock posted 20 digs, 13 kills and two aces, powering Johnstown to a 3-0 sweep of South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council volleyball match Thursday.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-20.

Jerica Holland had 14 assists, five kills, four digs and three aces for the Lady Bills (13-0 Foothills), while Alyssa Nellis recorded 12 digs, two kills and two aces. Brianne O'Rourke posted four blocks and two kills for Johnstown, and Hannah Breda had three kills and two blocks.

Kassy McDonald had 17 assists for South Glens Falls (7-10 overall, 4-9 Foothills), while MacKinzie had 16 assists. Emma Saxton added six kills for the Bulldogs.

WAC

Mayfield 3, Mekeel Christian 0

MAYFIELD - Kaylee Bumpus finished with 10 service points and eight kills, leading Mayfield to a win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-11, 25-5 and 25-11.

Kiera Davis had 10 points and five aces for Mayfield (12-3 overall, 12-2 WAC), while Miranda Eagan posted six points and four aces. Bailey Ward finished with four kills for the Lady Panthers, and Mackenzie Biggers had four assists.

Jordan Spawn had two aces for Mekeel Christian.

Canajoharie 3, Fort Plain 0

CANAJOHARIE - Shelby Mead posted 11 service points, seven kills, two blocks and two digs to lead Canajoharie to a win over Fort Plain.

The Lady Cougars won by scores of 25-17, 25-6 and 25-14.

Shyanna Logan posted 18 digs and seven kills for the Lady Cougars, while Abbey Dearwester finished with 10 assists, seven kills and six digs. Emma Stortecky registered 15 assists and three aces for Canajoharie (12-3 overall, 12-3 WAC), Gracie Adams had 12 points, six aces and three kills, and Madison Herrick posted six digs. Frankie Nare added five kills for the Lady Cougars.

Big 10

Amsterdam 3, Bishop Maginn 1

ALBANY - Destiny Smith posted nine aces and five kills, powering Amsterdam to a win over Bishop Maginn.

The Lady Rams won by scores of 25-27, 25-21, 25-11 and 25-19.

Cassidy Arocho posted 10 assists and two kills for Amsterdam, while Jess Andersen finished with five kills, three aces and one block. Yari Laboy added three kills for the Lady Rams, Brittanie Brown had four kills and two assists, and Gabby Catena posted two kills and two blocks.

Colonial Council

Voorheesville 3, Fonda-Fultonville 0

FONDA - Voorheesville kept its record perfect with its league win over Fonda-Fultonville on game scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-21.

Miranda Nethaway led the Lady Braves (12-4 overall, 12-4 Colonial Council) with seven kills, three blocks, five service points and two aces, while Kerrigan McCaslin recorded eight service points and seven assists.

Tori Hargrave had 10 kills and 13 digs for Voorheesville, while Libby Bjoric had five kills, 20 assists and 15 service points and Caroline Bablin added nin kills.
