Boys Soccer Roundup: South High blanks Gloversville, wins title

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Levi Ahl scored twice, leading South Glens Falls to a shutout win over Gloversville, 5-0, in a Foothills Council boys soccer contest Saturday.

The Bulldogs won the Foothills Council title when Queensbury lost to Broadalbin-Perth 4-3 in overtime.

Kyle Ogden had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs (12-4 overall, 12-2 Foothills), while Derek Moore and Tristan Morey also scored. Jace Lenon added an assists for South Glens Falls, which finished with an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Kyle Royal made seven saves for Gloversville (4-12 overall, 4-10 Foothills), which was outshot 12-0.

Scotia-Glenville 2, Johnstown 0

SCOTIA - Owen Fingar and David McKenzie scored, lifting Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win over Johnstown.

Dan Clune posted an assist for the Tartans (9-4-1 Foothills).

Johnstown slipped to 2-13-1 overall and 2-12 in Foothills Council play.

Glens Falls 5, Hudson Falls 1

GLENS FALLS - Sean Hooker finished with two goals and an assist, powering Glens Falls to a Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls.

Nate Didio, Clark Wooley and Justin Orr also scored for the Indians (3-13 overall, 3-11 Foothills), while Willy Herrmann added an assist.

Jerald Kilmartin scored the lone goal for Hudson Falls on an assist from Andrew LaFay.

Patrick Resse made six saves to earn the win in goal for Glens Falls.

Kyle Rich made 10 saves for Hudson Falls (3-11 Foothills).

WAC

Saratoga Catholic 4, Canajoharie 0

CANAJOHARIE - Ryan Czarnecki had a goal and an assist, leading Saratoga Central Catholic to a shutout win over Canajoharie in WAC Conference North Division contest Friday.

Liam Rice, Ryan Hall and J.R. Hmura also scored for the Saints (10-4-2 overall, 10-4-2 WAC), while Joe Schmidt had two assists. Owen O'Reilly also had an assist for Saratoga Catholic.

Keegan Murphy made three saves to earn the shutout win in goal for the Saints.

Canajoharie slipped to 2-13 overall and 2-13 in WAC play.

Schoharie 2, Middleburgh 2

MIDDLEBURGH - Brody Smith scored twice for Middleburgh in a tie with Schoharie on Saturday. Austin Roney assisted on both goals for the Knights.

Devon Brooks and Rich Martino scored for Schoharie.

Justin Montione made nine saves for Schoharie, while Austin Smith made 11 stops for Middleburgh.

Big 10

Amsterdam 4, Catholic Central 1

AMSTERDAM - Four different players scored, leading Amsterdam to a win over Catholic Central at Lynch Literacy Academy on Friday.

Jared Gallup had a goal and an assist for the Rams, while Andrew DiSalvi, Andrew Druziak and Isaiah Cameron also scored. Taliq Sims added two assists for Amsterdam (8-6-2 overall, 5-6-1 Big 10).

Ryan Farrar scored for Catholic Central.
