JHS girls tennis loses to Greenwich

JOHNSTOWN - Greenwich won all five singles matches and both doubles contests on its way to a 7-0 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council girls tennis match Thursday.

Tina Boyce, Amanda Thomas, Casey Hunter, Alexis Curley won singles matches for Greenwich, which also picked up a forfeit win at fifth singles.

Emily Wright and Laura Strasswimmer won at No. 1 doubles for the Witches, while Alexandra O'Brien and Caitlyn Robertson won at No. 2 doubles.

Johnstown finished the season 0-14 overall and 0-12 in Foothills Council play.

Greenwich 7, Johnstown 0

No. 2: Amanda Thomas (G) def. Angelee Smith, 6-3, 6-1

No. 3: Casey Hunter (G) def. Victoria Baker, 6-2, 6-1

No. 4: Alexis Curley (G) def. Rachel Defrancis, 6-2, 6-2

No. 5: Greenwich won by forfeit
