Kosowicz eighth at Niskayuna Invy
QUEENSBURY - Johnstown's Sara Kosowicz finished eighth Wednesday for the Johnstown girls alpine ski team at the Niskayuna Invitational at West Mountain.
Kosowicz covered the course in a time of 30.76 seconds.
Shenendehowa's Julia Smith won the race with a time of 29.06 seconds, while Shenendehowa's Kristen Kruk was second with a time of 29.43 seconds.
Shenendehowa won the girls team title with a total of 10 points, while Queensbury was second with a total of 19 points. Johnstown finished sixth with a total of 73 points.
Reilly Kotwasinki was 26th for Johnstown with a time of 34.59 seconds, while Emily Havlicek (34.59 seconds) was 39th. Other Johnstown finishers included Whitney Western (40th, 37.49), Payton Sardella (44th, 38.27) and Chloe Salisbury (55th, 52.40). Serena Smith also competed for the Lady Bills, but was disqualified.
In the boys race, Saratoga Springs' Kieran Mottau won with a time of 27.14 seconds. Bolton-Lake George's Cooper Perkett was second with a time of 27.95 seconds, while Niskayuna's Ned Feist (28.06 seconds) was third.
Saratoga Springs won the boys team title with a total of 19 points, while Queensbury was second with 30.
Johnstown finished eighth with 80 points.
Lukas Levin led Johnstown, placing 21st with a time of 31.21 seconds. Nick Salatel (31.98 seconds) was 25th for the Sir Bills, while Zack Szurek (33.72) was 34th. Other Johnstown finishers included Zack Simone (36th, 34.49), Sam Bobbette (37th, 34.75), Noah Western (40th, 35.47) and Patrick Fleming (56th, 41.66).
