Mayfield boys lose to Mekeel Christian

SCOTIA - Mike Mann hit five 3-pointers as part of a 15-point effort, leading Mekeel Christian Academy to a 78-25 win over Mayfield in a non-league boys basketball game Tuesday.

Mekeel Christian led 21-2 after one quarter and 43-7 at the half on its way to the win.

C.J. Mulvey finished with 14 points and seven blocks for the Lions (11-1 overall), while Scott Voelker scored 12 points. Marquan Newman and Damonte White each scored 10 points for the Lions.

Josh Gallup scored nine points to lead Mayfield (6-8 overall), which has lost seven of its last eight contests after starting the season 5-1.

The Panthers are scheduled to host Saratoga Catholic on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in a Western Athletic Conference North Division contest.
