SCHENECTADY - The Mayfield girls bowling team finished second in the Class C Tournament at Boulevard Bowl on Thursday.
Mechanicville won the team title with 5,336 pins, while Mayfield was second with 4,680 pins. Canajoharie (4,277) was third, Middleburgh (4,188) was fourth and Schoharie (4,091) was fifth. Fort Plain (3,760) was seventh and Fonda-Fultonville (3,613) was eighth in the team standings.
It was the third straight year that Mayfield finished second.
Virginia Johnson had a six-game total of 1,051 and a high game of 222, the third-highest game of the day.
Carly Poyfair had a six-game total of 973 for Mayfield with a high game of 200.
Kiara Putnam led Canajoharie with a six-game total of 1,021 with a high game of 179. Amy Reedy added a six-game total of 968 for the Lady Cougars with a high game of 197, while Amelia Oeser posted a six-game total of 796 for Canajoharie. Kendra Kilcullen added a six-game total of 789 for the Lady Cougars.
Angelique LaFreniere led Fonda-Fultonville with a six-game total of 789 and a high game of 150. Shelby Whipple posted a six-game total of 713 and a high game of 158.
Fort Plain's Beth Mallett had the high three-game total of the day.
