Robert J. Zinter "Doctor Z", age 68, of Oak Lane, Gloversville, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Gloversville, N.Y., on October 31, 1945, the son of the late Carl and Genevive Seward Zinter. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Central City Business Institute of Syracuse. He was the youngest of ten children.

He was employed as a warehouseman for Lee Dye Company for many years. He was lastly employed for Zinter Handling.

He loved fishing and hunting and time at his camps in Sabattis and Comstock.

Survivors include his fiancee, Janeane Lawrence of Gloversville; children, Ryan Zinter (Jess) of Texas and Pilar Zinter (Bob) of Johnstown, Martin Calhoun (Gail) of Hope, Rebecca Daley (James) of Nassau, Colleen Lawrence (Steven) of Mayfield; four grandchildren, Tylor Daley, Logan Daley, Andriea Rackmyre and Evan Rackmyre; brother, Larry Zinter Sr. (Marie) of Saratoga; sisters, Lila Zinter of Rocklin, CA, Dona Pombrio (Wayne) of Johnstown, Shirley France of Homosassa, FL, and Nancy Nulty (Kurt) of Mayfield. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews and so many numerous friends.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Janet Orlosky and Carolyn Dybas; and brothers, Carl, Donald and Richard Zinter.

Special thanks to best friends, Larry Flood and Howard Santon.

In keeping with Doc's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville. Arrangements are by the Northville Funeral Service. Condolences may be made to the family online
