George "Fat Guy" E. Garhartt, 44, of Johnstown, passed away Tuesday morning at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, NY, on August 14, 1969, he was the son of Thomas E. Garhartt and Joanne Fuller Garhartt.
George was an area resident for the past 21 years after moving locally from Albany. George owned his own business for many years working as an automotive repair mechanic.
George was an outdoors man who loved 4-wheeling and drag racing, but especially loved his mud trucks and built several of his own mud trucks over the years. Most of all, George adored his family; they were the most important thing to him.
His loving family includes his wife Jeanne M. Garhartt, daughters; Erika Garhartt, Naosa Smith, Taylor Garhartt and Ciera Rhinehart; a son; George J. Garhartt; brothers, Thomas Garhartt and Rich Nicoles; his grandchildren; Jacksen Betler, Emily, Laken, Seth and Matthew; his parents; Thomas E. Garhartt and Joanne Fuller Garhartt; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
