I noted, with interest, the June 6 article on Page 1A of The Leader-Herald, headlined "Lexington seeking grant for arts center."
According to the story, Lexington Foundation Executive Director Wally Hart stated the center could be about 10,000 square feet and cost between $2.5 million and $3 million. On Page 3A of the same edition, there was an article headlined "County may try to sell building in Gloversville." This former county mental health clinic building is said to be 10,000 square feet.
Hmm. What if ...?
Also, I have attended many excellent productions put on at the Glove Performing Arts Center on Main Street. Despite the efforts of the dedicated and hard-working volunteers at the Glove, there is still much to be done to complete the refurbishing of this building.
Would there be a great objection to renaming this historic building "The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts"? I wonder.
