A. Irene Perrella died at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, at The Waterford Health Center, Juno Beach, Florida. Born in July of 1912, in Ottawa, Canada, she was 102 years old. She lived in Gloversville, New York, since 1924 and became a resident of Florida in 1992.
Irene was a graduate of Gloversville High School in 1930 and secretarial school in 1932.
Irene was an avid reader, an enthusiast of card and board games, and enjoyed traveling. Her favorite time was spent with family and close friends. Irene's favorite homemade gifts to all were her special butterscotch brownies and Christmas fruitcakes.
Irene was married to James A. Perrella since 1933 who passed away in 2003. She is survived by her children, James E. Perrella and his wife, Diane, her daughter, Ann Ambrosino and her husband Arthur and John S. Perrella and his wife Becky. Irene was blessed with six grandchildren and their spouses, Rene and Tom Zumbolo, Yvette and Glenn Sekel, David and Marie Ambrosino, Joy and Andy Lathan, Joshua Perrella and Elizabeth Perrella. In addition, knowing her seven great-grandchildren gave her much happiness, Abigail and McKenna Lathan, Dillon Zumbolo, Alex and Garrett Ambrosino, Trevor and Graham Sekel.
A memorial service will be held for Irene Perrella at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, Florida 33458; 561-746-5124.
