Where can I sign up for no work & get paid? Are the Gov.Officials better than the people who pay them? The only answer to this pole is YES!

And they will have to be away from their wives and/or mistressess for the whole 4th of July weekend.....how sad.

rocky1 I will answer the question. Yes, the state should stop the paycheck. Here is a slap in the face of reality. It won't happen. The Senate will claim that they are doing their job, which technically they are. There is nothing in the job description that says they have to pass any bills whatsoever. They are showing up and that is all they technically have to do. That being said they are doing one crappy job. And now the Gov will force them into session over the holiday weekend. So all 62 senators will stay in Albany, show up at 3 pm, gavel in then gavel out and each will collect $162 in perdiem charges.

Oh, and by the way. I voted for McCain, so don't make your racist assumptions.

Ireadit..you reinforce my last post. No new material. No solutions. You are getting old and boring. Give us something we can discuss. Democraps? That's pretty dumb. JFK and FDR were Democraps. You don't even know what you stand for except you are racist, which is a stand, I guess. Show some intelligence, if you can, and offer some alternatives. You could be amusing if you weren't so sad. You lost the Civil War years ago. Get over it!

Why do you all have to be so negative and say things that you know absolutely nothing about? Heck, you all can't even spell the words you are trying to use. How about answering the question put before you, which was, "Should the State cut off Senators'paychecks until they end their stalemate?" To which I would have to say yes and then ask do you get paid for not doing your job? The answer should be obvious.

We have had Republicans for eight long years and this is where they put us-The worst economic slow down since the last Republicans (1980's) Democrats are going to save us. At least they are trying too. New York needs to wipe the slate clean of self serving politians-Mostly Republicans.

Ireadit...you need some new material, your old stuff is really old. Fact is, all politicians are the same regardless of party affiliation. or haven't you noticed that? You place blame in all your posts, but offer no REALISTIC solutions. You come off as an ignorant racist. Get over it.

renuzit - Your idealism is to be commended. However, in order to run for a state office against any incumbent, have have to have about 5 times as much money as they do. And the fact of the matter is, the majority of the time there simply is no other candidate to vote for because no one wants to run for office. Would you? Even when you have the money (i.e. Tom Golisano) you have to have the party behind you in NYS. And if anyone thinks the Governor and the Legilators run the government, you are WRONG. It's the high level politically hired staff.

Cut off their pay checks first....then something else later on.

They think that they are above the law, and wouldn't you know it they are mostly lawyers. They should be fired! They are public servants, not movie stars. They should be ashamed of themselves....I am voting someone different next election-we'll see if that works?

The state should be like New Hampshire and pay them $300/year
