Reduce city workforce?DPW?Lets see reduce an already depleted department with warn out vehicles in the fall and winter of the year.have a 20 inch snowstorm or another labor day type storm and you can call in the national guard because your transit won't move your police won't come and your house will burn down.it's a two faced question.higher taxes vs services,we are already paying high taxes so we'll probably be paying more with cutting YOUR workers not a very good deal.

Dullsville. What's the next question?

Actually, the municipality in the worst financial condition is spending over $200,000 a year to provide transit services for the entire county. And Dayton King has promised to continue the expense unabated.

Interviewer1 - Why would the more fiscally responsible muncipality want to share the service with the less fiscally responsible muncipality?

Reduce the city work force, starting with cuts within the police department. Sharing services are the only way a county the size of Fulton County can survive financially. Consolidate or share police services with other, more fiscally responsible, municipalities.

Gloversville is heading for some rough times. Its a shame since it was once very prosperous as the largest glove producing community in this country. However, I do wonder why only 13% of registered dems and 26% registered republicans voted in the recent primary. Don't just voice your opinions here - make your opinion count and VOTE!!!

The talk is 8 precent tax increase for homeowners..NO MORE TAXRS...The city can't budget there own budget so lets pass it on to the home owners..Theres at least 10 homes on my street alone that are sitting empty or for sale...Mine or our neighbors will be next...

Maybe if the Mayor does'nt do jail time (which he should)he can do comunity service and shocel snow and mow lawns for free! That would help my budget...

I think the city work force should be reduced. Several of them must weigh well over 200 pounds.

We have over spent for many years, we have reduced the services but have yet to reduce the costs. When you stop a service it is not a green light to use the money that was saved on pet projects. I have yet to see where the cuts have saved us anything, so where exactly did that savings go? A-Al is right, we do need an accountant to figure this out. It is time to give Jo-Ann a chance. If I was her I would decline the election, it is going to be one*****of a mess to clean after these current events.

This poll offers a false choice, since the proposed budget clearly shows that they will have to do both. Only one candidate for mayor has been brave enough to tell the truth since day one: Jo-Ann Clear. Judy Marcoux continues, after sitting in the council audience, for four years, to tell us that we have to wait and see. The time for waiting is long over. Worse, the annoited successor to Mayor Tim Hughes, Dayton King, continues the fantasy that we won't have to do either because of some magic powers he has to attract business here. Fat chance of that.
