here's an idea..let's drill in our own country and stop buying stuff from the saudis..that migh be a great start..even if we yield 50% of the fuel we buy from the saudis. the gas prices with dramatically decrease..but nope..can't do that..that would be smart? yes..thats not the problem though..the saudis would get all disgruntled, and stop being 'friends' with the US..and they are too rich for the US gov to let that happen

No relief at all doing that,fist the minimum wage goes up then gas,then milk,then cigs,then everything else.****e next you we will do it all over again at another $1.00+ more.When does it end?How do we get ahead?We can try moving but where will we go?They always seem to find something to tax us on,dropping this tax only adds another.

whenever anyone hears "suspend taxes" they do not hear anything else. we need to be proud to be americans and learn to make the sacrifice to only use what our country has produced. by suspending the gas tax will not help at all. how about if we boycott all the fat greedy oil and gasoline companies.they know we are spoiled and that we are addicted to our automobiles and will pay any price to use them. so we have given them a blank check and they are more then happy to fill in the amount.

the repealing of the gas tax is a political ploy. It will shift the burden of the lost revenue somewhere else. In addition, the cost of the added bureaucratic "crap" to repeal and then restate the tax will cause this whole deal to actually cost the State (us() money.

We need electric plug-in car hybrids...that's what we NEED. We NEED trains, and trollies. We NEED less airplanes in the air robbing our fuel. We NEED a new government!

The gas companies will still raise the price all summer, and when government puts the tax back it will be so expensive we will have a heart attack!

It's getting to the point where I cannot afford to drive to work. I put on atleast a hundred miles a day roundtrip. I would love to see what these oil company people do when those of us here to serve & protect or are in health care cannot afford to get to work to take care of them.

Already I walk quite a bit and ride bike. I am contemplating riding bike the 10 miles to my car pool...but haven't got that far yet. The morning I would probably really enjoy it but the evening, after a whole day at work, to peddle 10 miles....I don't know just yet.

If you have more than one vehicle, try only driving one on weekends. Run all errands together, etc. We have done that and with one car sitting in the garage all weekend we have managed to save over $60 a month. Might not sound like much of a savings but it does add up.

The state can suspend the tax and the gas station owners will raise the prices even higher. They CAN and WILL do it. What's the point in suspending the state tax on gas and as trucker said, have to raise the taxes on something else. Unfortunately, as trucker states, people need to drive less, consume less gasoline, and hopefully that will bring the prices down.

Suspend the gas tax only means the state will have less money coming in and they will have to raise some other tax to make up for it. Just stop driving, that will bring prices down. Law of supply and demand.
