Hey look at it this way, Fulton county should be lowering Fulton counties dumping fees due to this influx of cash. The landfill has all the most modern technology that contains all the pollutants, it is lined and checked and approved by all the state and federal agencies... nothing could ever go wrong... all the experts agree right? Government is never wrong and they will not blame others for the failure of our landfill system would they? I hope George is up to the task!

Ps. The tax payers pay for it now. So how would that change?? People should get thier heads out of thier butts to learn it is thier money in the first place. Since WHEN did the countys make a profit ??

WildBill, your superior grasp of the issue and fact laden reply have given us much to think about.

Then again look at the bright side. They now bottle spring water right next to it. If that ever hit the internet on U-Tube wonder what would happen.

It will end with the taxpayers paying for it.

If we could only have referendums before our stupid county legislators go off and waste our money like this we could prevent it even from starting. Yes, reactivate the old FJ&G line.

I am sure that's true twocentsworth but I have been a loud advocate for rebuilding the old RR spur which literally does run through my backyard, by the way, and I would not mind the sound of Commerce at all. I'm for something that already exists and does NOT take anybody's private land. Ask those people who's property will have to be 'liberated' to build a road what they think instead.

MrBob I think if you asked the people who live there with trains flying through their back yards and a street full of tractor trailers in front of their houses you might get a different opinion than yours.

Hill, the Feb 11 edition has the details of the agreement. $38/ton seem like a good rate.

Pay our fair share for something we don't want? Good luck with that.

Playing devil's advocate here...Fulton County would have everything to gain with a bypass, not so much for Montgomery County.

Are you sure about that twocents? FC's full cost for the study is $92,500, not $492,500. If MC paid half, well, are you asking MC to screw FC on the Landfill Agreement???

Has the actual "agreement" document been made public?

The tipping fees should equal the amount they would not contribute to the by pass study.
