Hill, before he was FIRED by Wally World (and threatened with arrest) he worked late night shift, so he actually could be mayor during the day. AND he makes over $42,000/year....approximately double the average income in Gloversville and you consider that PART TIME PAY? WOW you ARE OUT OF TOUCH!

and RUGS, who is this "we" you refer to who are "trolling sites like this"? I knew it all along that you three were just internet trolls thank you for proving me right AGAIN.
DRUGS: "So we troll sites like this attempting to educate the low information youth...." REALLY? by doing nothing but posting hate filled, racist fueled flat out LIES???? are you joking? and "somewhat retired" is a very nice way to say UNEMPLOYED AND LIVING OFFF THE SYSTEM YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT.....priceless
He does not work now as Mayor...really, what does this youngster do all day besides play on fb? He does nothing. This city continues to decline. If it was not for other people picking up his slack then this city may as well not exist. He is worthless. He is being paid right now...for doing nothing as mayor...must be nice to get paid to do nothing.

The reason I post at that time Einstein is I, A: am at work, B:presntly in California at work. Do you have any other wisdom you would like to share? C:who gives a flip about facebook? Grow up!
hey Trevor, there are a few posters who already did have a J-O-B and we have taken the opportunity to allow our more youthful, stronger offspring to provide for their families. I've been somewhat retired for 25+ years and have been told for quite some time -"you old guys are too expensive" or "you are way over qualified for the job" So we troll sites like this attempting to educate the low information youth who would rather play XBOX or Candy Crush on the phone than participate in a good softball game or read a good history book

MrBob51: Is 51 your age or your IQ? Your rated as one of the highest users on this site. Get a job, too! I can play that game, too.

Uh, trevor...we can all play that game...YOU post at 6:14am complaining about facebook users, time to wipe off the cheetos stains and get out of mommys cellar.

Stackrat: He's suppose to be running the city, not playing on Facebook all day. As for you, we all know what a rat does at 3:13 AM. Get a job and stop collecting benefits!

Its HIS facebook page, not the city's! I would block you too.
Actually Dayton King has a third job. He's constantly patrolling his "Government Official Facebook Page", and when he does like one's comments that are posted: HE BLOCKS THAT PERSON. What a jerk, its time for him to resign!

If Dayton is saying that being mayor of Gloversville is a part time job, then fine. Pay him part time wages instead of full time. What does the mayor of Johnstown get? $10k a year? This will save the city money.

Hmmm. It night be better if the mayor and all city politicians spent LESS time at city hall. :) Seriously, there are more than enough hours in the week for the mayor to carry out his mayoral duties and responsibilities while working at another job. City departments do not require constant micro-management from the mayor and other city elected officials, and in fact accomplish much more without it.
In this age of high technology no one is ever out of touch.

Seems to me that somebody wanting to work, instead of relying exclusively on a Taxpayer funded political job, is a good thing.

workingwoman: It always seems that there are those eager to stir the pot and cook up "conflict" for personal gain.

A full time mayor would put in 40 hours a week. There are 168 hours a week. What the mayor does those other hours are no concern except for people looking to keep up the disdain for the mayor.

What part of "no conflict" dont you get? Or is it that your just too ignorant to accept what your eyes and ears tell you?

King hasn't worked at Walmart for at least three years when he was given the boot. Try to keep up. Also, his hours there did not conflict with his hours at city hall. He said he would be a FULL TIME MAYOR during both his campaigns. He lied. Seems you don't know as much about him as you think you do, so you should "Get A Clue".
This is how the clowns in Gloversville handle themselves when they dont get what they want. They call for resignations, they call for a change in the structure. Maybe the folks would be happier if he was selling dope to make ends meet!
Pleasegetaclue: Wasn't he working full time at Walmart until quite recently? He had time to be mayor then, so it should be the same now. When Joe Emmanuel was mayor of Amsterdam he was a full time math teacher at Fonda-Fultonville. Capable department heads don't need to be micro-managed and second guessed all day long. If the Gloversville council wants a full time mayor it should pony up with a full time salary.

Running Gloversville should be a part time job... however today with so many dependent on government to micromanage their personal choices and general guidance I believe he should be available at all times to advise the needers every move. You know like Obama and the democrats want to do.

but REAL and HILL, if he's working a full time job from 8-5, when exactly is he mayor? only on weekends? That's a pretty nice paying part time job for the hours he will be putting in. He knew what the job required and paid when he ran for office. No he's not happy with that? sounds like his problem and not ours

He should be allowed! one has nothing to do with the other. In Fulton and Montgomery Counties you have part time Judges who are Law Guardians have there own practice and fill in for Public Defenders so if that isn't corrupt having another job shouldn't be.
