wow the safety first and at all costs crowd has evened the score. I guess I'll have to get a helmet and a harness support for the shower. Gotta be safe. Is it safer in the car if all the airbags are blown up??? It looks like usedto called all his pals I get lots of dislikes even posting facts, or is swizzer trolling too??

In regards to all kids these days and the way they are coddled by society and filled with the "you are all winners" mentality, what is going to happen when they hit the real world and find its the total opposite of what they have been told all along... You are not all winners and you do not all deserve a trophy

wow -- 3 disagrees with disciplined coaching - no wonder the once great and proud JHS football program is no more than a shadow of what it once was

no Hill, "back then" there was school pride, discipline(at home, in the classroom, and on the football field), AND by my observation we were more mature at 16 than most 25 yr. olds are today.

And weren't you posting to this thread in favor of telling the kiddies not to play for fear of injury?????

Back in the day there was a plan "B" for over protective parents, parochial school. Too bad that today we don't have a local parochial HS to send precious little Johnny to so he won't have to rub elbows with the common folk and the non-Christians slugs who surely are going to H*ELL. Bishop Burke had a football team? Oh well, apparently playing football today is more of a character builder than it was back then.

That won't fly either drugs, drawing a picture of an imaginary gun or biting a pop-tart into the shape of an imaginary gun or pointing your finger like an imaginary gun will get little Billy or Susie suspended or kicked out of school. Finger and paper guns are far too dangerous to be in the hands or minds of children so imagine the outrage from parents and teachers at hurting imaginary football players?! If people are so dam*ed worried about their kids getting scratched or bruised STOP having them, apparently there are enough wussies already.

looks like it's time for inter-scholastic John Madden football- it will be sooo much safer, and the kiddies can still be fat and dumb. HEY with the internet they don't even have to travel and the sports program will only cost a hundred bucks or so.

Just how crazy is this? Not too long ago there was a fever to get a new football field at FFCHS. Tallying up the hand-wringers and scardy-cats it looks like the decision to kick it to the curb WAS a goods idea. So don't try to resurrect this next year, instead eliminate all the sports programs but not because the taxpayers don't want to pay the insurance for sports or any other injuries related to School, but because they are DANGEROUS!!! Oh my! No plastic pens either, bad for the environment and you could hurt another kid...blunt, not sharp pencils only, no erasers because with Common Core every answer is the right one. No school buses, you know how many kids are hurt riding them? If it's only ONE it must be stopped..plus, everything that possibly can hurt a child while in school is banned..EVERYTHING. Ok Momma's, it's up to you not to let anything dirty or dangerous to get to your child, ESPECIALLY football...yup, that's the answer. Eff'in busybodies. Sheesh..

)oops, continued)seems to be gaining in popularity. I've said it before -- things were better 40 - 50 years ago when people weren't so afraid of bugs and bumps and scrapes, and a broken bone now and then

Right on BoB, but it looks like the "yes" gang is picking up again. The "Oh my God THAT is too dangerous", " WE cant let the children do that, they will gat hurt", "I need 30 more airbags in my car, NYS should make wearing helmets in cars mandatory, and the speed limit should be lowered to 25 mph, and everybody should use 4-way flashers ALL THT TIME, SAFETY FIRST crowd.

This is crazy! Far too many people are way too involved in telling others what to do or not to do. Butt out, get a life of your own and live it.

Yo Hill, check the time. I just got home. since 11:30 yesterday morning I drove 400 miles and walked about 1 1/2 - 2 miles. I'm in pretty good shape for a 67 yr. old. There are lots of younger guys that can't keep up with me. I've got about another hour of work to do. I'll be up before noon. You should try my hours.

Druggy: I played 4 years of HS football and jogged regularly for over 40 years until the bad knees and deteriorated disc halted that. If you're in great shape why did you retire, to torture the wife? PS: Get off the keyboard and take a hike, I already did.

Hill, STOP already, as it is we will soon have the National Flagfootball League, NO tackling allowed, and we'll have team names like Purple Pansies, so nobody is offended.

Better not leave your recliner Hill, life is dangerous, check the obits, people who did nothing that could even be considered remotely risky are dying every day.

You have it wrong again laker, it is the OBAMA'S that have tire themselves to every single issue that there is by doing just that. I believe it is like a dog making its territory they have peed on everything to make it their own. It showed in the results too it stinks and everyone is peed off.

TOT, it's OK to copy and paste when you use quotation marks and don't try to peddle someone else's thoughts as your own. Did you even go to school?

And while we're at it let's bring back the glory days of tanneries, pollution, and turn a blind eye to the health issues associated to the chemicals used in the leather industry. The more the world learns about science and health the more some Neanderthals choose to ignore. Rave on Druggy and TOT, you know more about this issue than Aikman and Farve. As for team work and character building in football, I'm surprised you still buy that crap. I can name several local stars from the area that made it to the police blotter once their glory days of HS football concluded. Who was ever asked at a job interview if they played HS football to gauge the applicant's teamworking skills and character?

nice o see the numbers moving in the right direction, lots more "no" than "yes"

JHS needs a reincarnation of THE coach -J P Sidlecki and maybe call on Coach Underwood as an advisor, he might appreciate the exercise.

Hill, you might want to ask your liberal friends 88 and usedto if it is OK to copy and paste from NBC sports. They seem to have a problem with that!
