Spring Fling Festival hits Amsterdam Main Street Saturday, rain or shine

Amsterdam’s Main Street will be full of fun this weekend as the Spring Fling Festival takes over Saturday, rain or shine. The 9th annual outdoor festival will feature vendors, food, and plenty of family-friendly entertainment from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Local musician Bobby Motyl will perform twice. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., he’ll be putting on a DJ set. After that, he’ll close out the day with a solo acoustic guitar performance. GLOVERSVILLE - Lisa and Louie Velez grew up in Amsterdam, but have traveled across the world paying tribute to the late, great Sammy Davis Jr., including living in Las Vegas for 25 years where he “played every hotel and casino on and off the strip.”  Lisa’s mother managed Louie’s career and encouraged the couple to go to Vegas. Gloversville native to read, sign conclusion to his book series at Mysteries on Main St. in Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN - Michael McAllister will be coming to Mysteries on Main St. in Johnstown to do a reading and signing of his third novel, “Deadly Ethics." McAllister publishes his novels under the pen name Gerard Michael. However, under his given name, he has published a pair of children’s books. “Deadly Ethics" concludes the trilogy of Greg Webster, a health department employee who gets tied up in solving crimes.
