STRATFORD - State forest rangers and a retired ranger helped rescue a runaway girl in the woods of Stratford late last week, the state Department of Environmental Conservation said. The girl was ultimately found cold, but otherwise unhurt after the approximately 80-minute search, the DEC said. The incident began Friday afternoon, just after 3 p.m., officials said.
