Nancy Murphy from Gloversville is a volunteer at the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Information Center at Vail Mills, a news release said. During her free time she makes illustrations of children and animals using magic markers and inks. Murphy also paints and sells larger work at the gallery housed in the center. She recently collaborated with a children’s book author, and her illustrations will soon be published, the release said. ‘100 Women Who Care’ helps local backpack program

The Gloversville Schools Backpack Program , has received a $16,300 donation from a local alliance, “100 Women Who Care.” Lashawn Hawkins of the Backpack Program, in a news release said, “This is an amazing gift that will assist tremendously in assuring that no child will be hungry. We are grateful!” The Backpack Program for children provides a weekend meal for children in need of nutritional meals coordinated by volunteers from the community and the school district staff.
