GLOVERSVILLER – The Glove Performing Arts Center, 42 N. Main St., presents the 2016 season with Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh Kids,” Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The production is directed by Greg Mytelka, music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Sherman, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, a news release said.
The music was adapted and arranged along with additional music and lyrics by Will Van Dyke Book and additional lyrics by Cheryl Davis.
The play is based on the stories A. A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film, the release said.
Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh KIDS” is a show based on the characters of A.A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film.
Featuring favorite songs from the film, as well as new hits by the Academy Award-winning Robert and Kristen Lopez (Frozen), this honey-filled delight is as sweet as it is fun, the release said.
Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson. As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course, sharing snacks, the news release said.
Filled with all of their favorite characters, Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh KIDS” is a favorite for children to perform, the news release said.
Tickets cost for adults $10, students and seniors $8, the news release said.
Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh KIDS” is presented through special arrangement with and all authorized materials are supplied by Music Theatre International of New York City.
