JOHNSTOWN – Recently Johnstown High School students put up posters about teen depression as part of a project headed up by the Mental Health Association in Fulton & Montgomery counties’ community mental health promotion team.
The posters were created by Emily Snow, a 2015 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School and current student at the University of Rhode Island, who won a poster contest hosted by the MHA through teacher Andrew Huth’s multi-media classes at HFM BOCES.
The posters provide information about the symptoms of depression, facts that dispel myths about depression and includes resources for seeking help, a news release said. Currently, Gloversville High School and OESJ high school are also participating in the project.
For more information, other interested schools and youth organizations can call Renee Carr, community mental health educator for the Mental Health Association at 762-5332, Ext. 109, the news release said.
