Edinburg society to meet June 21

EDINBURG – The Edinburg Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Edinburg Community Center on Military Road.

The program will feature society member and curator Cynthia Kurtz, who will talk about stories in the family and community.

Kurtz will talk about how you can help your family share and preserve stories. She will also talk about her work with communities, and show a card game people can play to share stories.

Kurtz is a researcher, software developer, consultant and writer who has been helping communities and organizations work with their stories since 1999. She wrote a textbook “Working with Stories in Your Community or Organization: Participatory Narrative Inquiry.”

Raffle tickets for original oil paintings by Andy Janik are still available. Janik has exhibited work in the SVAN Arts Center Gallery in Northville, the Northville High School and the Micropolis Cooperative Art Gallery in Gloversville. Raffle tickets are available from EHS members or by calling Claudette Koza at 863-4844.

Shares in the Copeland Covered Bridge in memory or in honor of loved ones are still available. Visitors at the bridge can view shareholders’ names.
