AMSTERDAM — The Amsterdam Rotary, with support from BBL as the presenting sponsor, is ready to present this year’s variety show, “Wish Upon the Stars”. Show-goers will be enchanted from the beginning of the Circle of Life procession through every magical song, comedic interlude and guest appearance, according to a news release.
“Wish Upon the Stars” includes magic-making songs from “Beauty and the Beast,” “Mary Poppins,” “Mulan,” “Hercules,” “Jungle Book” and many more. Selections have been chosen for their popularity and their message and will be performed by local Rotarians and community members.
Featured guests include MedRock, Louie Velez, Peter Capobianco and a cameo appearance of the Seven Dwarfs.
Performances of “Wish Upon the Stars” are Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Amsterdam High School. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door; tickets can be purchased at the St. Mary’s Hospital Gift Shop, Subway or from any Rotarian.
Long-time directors, Bill Nelson and Stephanie Boice, are creating a crowd pleasing, toe tapping, sing-a-long event for the whole family. Boice and Nelson are enthusiastic about the show bringing out the inner kid in all of us.
