JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton County Youth Bureau recognized area students at its annual Lead by Example recognition event June 8 at the Johnstown Senior Center.
They are Northville seniors Jaclyn VanNostrand and Catherine Millington; Johnstown senior Sarah Martelle; Broadalbin-Perth senior John “JP” Person; Gloversville seniors Christopher Smouse and Brianna Quackenbush; Mayfield senior Molly Lambo; and Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville senior Jeffrey Baker.
The Lead by Example awards are presented annually to recognize youths who are positive role models and have performed an outstanding and extraordinary service for their community or have assumed an extraordinary role within their families, according to a news release.
Speakers at the event were former Youth Bureau representatives Greg Mytelka, Jada Diodato and Jon Bearden, who all have completed their freshman year of college. They spoke about how their experiences in high school and the Fulton County Youth Bureau paved the way for their successes this past year and will stay with them in the future, according to the news release.
