Fonda-Fultonville conducts career day

FONDA — On June 21, Fonda-Fultonville Middle School sixth-grade students participated in Career Day involving 10 parents and two community resource members from the Montgomery County Public Heather Department.

Students took a survey and were placed in their top choice sessions that lasted 20 minutes each as they learned about career opportunities, according to a news release.

Social studies teacher Laura Hayes-Bowles organized this activity as a way to involve parents at FFMS and have students explore career options, the news release said.

The following parents or community members attended: Valerie Prentice (home health aide), Virginia Tetrault (waitress), Robert Tetrault (embroiders casket pads), Brandy Rose (medical technologist), Darlene Marchand-Clifford and Danielle Clifford (social worker), Heather Stephens (massage therapy), Eric Girard (probation officer), Ericka Barrantes (emergency services dispatcher, 911), Lisa Lee (fire protection specialist), Sarah Smith (registered nurse), Nate Snow (accountant), Laurel Headwell (community educator), Sara Boerenko (mental health associate).
