JOHNSTOWN — A book signing by retired Fulton-Montgomery Community College professor Bill Pierce will occur from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at Mysteries on Main Street, 144 W. Main St.

The book is titled, “Whoever I Am Is Around Here Someplace: A Memoir of Sorts.” The book is about growing up and experiencing the 1950s — a time of innocence and innovation. Stories and heroes on brand-new television sparked joy and imagination. Children would play outdoors all summer and family ties were strong.

Pierce grew up in western New York. He taught physics, psychology, human development and leadership for 33 years.

He is retired from FMCC, where he was a professor emeritus and received the New York State Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
