Tax-Aide seeks volunteers

AARP Tax-Aide, the nation’s largest free volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service is seeking volunteers for the upcoming tax season.

Tax-Aide volunteers answer questions, prepare and file returns for low- to moderate income taxpayers and seniors from Feb. 1 to April 15 at various sites in the Capital District.

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome and don’t have to be an AARP member or retiree to volunteer. Volunteers receive free tax training. They help customers one-on-one at tax sites.

To register as a volunteer for AARP Tax-Aide, visit tinyurl.com/taxaidevolunteers and select the yellow “become a volunteer” box i.n the center of the page and complete the registration form.

Signing up does not carry an obligation to volunteer — it will simply allow an area AARP representative to contact volunteers about the program. Or for Schenectady, Montgomery or Fulton counties, call Robert Parsons,(518) 371-7729, email [email protected], or call toll free at 1-888-OUR-AARP (1-888-687-2277).
