JOHNSTOWN — Each year the Board of Election hires people to work as election inspectors to conduct fair elections that meet New York State Election Laws for Fulton County, according to a news release.
To be qualified to work as an election inspector, those interested must be a registered voter in the county, be able to speak English and be able to work the entire shift as the board does not offer split shifts. As an election inspector, one will be required to take a training class. The individuals who complete the training will receive payment of $25, the news release stated.
The primary election inspector hours are 11:15 a.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m. The inspectors are paid $125 for this day. The polls are open from noon to 9 p.m., the news release stated.
The general election inspector hours are from 5:15 a.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m. The inspectors are paid $200 for this day. The polls are open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., the news release stated.
