North Main to close temporarily Friday

GLOVERSVILLE — North Main Street from Fulton to Fremont Streets will be closed to through traffic starting at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in advance of the Twilight Market a city police news release said.

According to the release, parked cars should be moved off of North Main no later than 2:30 p.m.

The first of the city’s three Twilight Market will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. that evening

The Twilight Market is a three-part summer series of events held on the second Friday of each month from July to September in the heart of the city’s downtown with vendors, family-friendly activities and live music. This month’s theme is Summer Splash.

This month’s market will feature new and returning vendors including Denique Vintage Designs, Euro Delicacies, Leaning Tree Designs, Slate Valley Farms, Smart Cosmetics, Stump City Brewing and Vashti’s Kitchen Delights. Various community organizations will also be on hand for the event.

Live music will be performed by folk artist Ellen Keehan and folk, bluegrass and Americana musician David Moore. Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market will also be hosting children’s activities during the event including face painting and cornhole sets will be available for anyone to play during the market.
