UTICA — Kaitlyn Tambasco, a 2016 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School, has won a second Syracuse Press award for a story published in the Utica College Tangerine, the college’s student newspaper.

Her story, which won third place in the college print news category, was about the limo crash that occurred in Schoharie in October. It focused on one of the victims of the crash, Amy Steenburgh, who was an online student at Utica College.

Last year, Tambasco placed first in that same category.

She was honored at the SPC’s annual awards ceremony on April 27 at the Genesee Grande Hotel in Syracuse.

Tambasco, the daughter of Gary and Jennifer Tambasco of Fort Johnson, majors in communication and media and criminal justice at Utica College. She is also involved in several campus organizations and will be The Tangerine’s managing editor in the fall.
