Collecting for charity

From left; Park Terrace Elementary School Principal Brian DiPasquale, second-grader Jaxen Gray, teacher Carrie Sweeney and Gloversville Elementary School PTA member Melissa Dingmon take in 50,131 soda top pull-tabs at the school on Wednesday collected by Gray with the help of family friend Maureen Phelps. Students at Gloversville elementary schools are collecting pull-tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities, which recycles the aluminum tabs to fund the organization’s efforts to provide a home-away-from-home for the families during the madical treatment of their seriously ill child. At the end of the school year Dingmon will gather the pull-tabs collected by students for delivery. (The Leader-Herald/Ashley Onyon)
