Reading to students

Amsterdam Mohawk outfielder Rook Ellington reads to Northville second- and third-graders Monday, while his teammate Geordon Blanton shows the book’s pictures to the students, and team mascot. Before the Amsterdam Mohawks’ Mayfield Northville Night on Tuesday, June 18, Northville elementary students were visited by Ellington, second baseman Geordon Blanton, and Jojo the mascot. The players read baseball books to studentsÊin Pre-K through grade five, and all the kidsÊwere able to give Jojo a high five. In addition, the Mohawks organization gaveÊa free game ticket to every Northville elementary student, good for any game besides “Fireworks Night” or the league playoffs.
