Annual picnic set for Wednesday

BROADALBIN — The local Women Democrats Organization will hold their annual picnic at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Pine Park Pavilion, 23 Pine St., 851 Route 29, according to a news release.

The members, families and friends are invited to the event. There is no charge. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share and serving utensils.

Julie A. Garcia of Warrensburg, who is running for New York State Supreme Court Fourth Judicial District will be attending. The district is one of 13 judicial districts in the state which covers Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Saratoga counties.

Max Spritzer candidate for Fourth Ward councilman of Johnstown, will be in attendance. The Democrats in office and others running will be honored.

In addition, this year’s winner of the Donald B. Bellinger Award, Savannah Shaut and her family, have been invited to attend in order to receive congratulations and meet members of the local Women Democrats Organization. The Bellinger Award is given in honor of deceased mayors of Johnstown who were Democrats including Donald B. Bellinger and more recently, Michael Julius. The winners are awarded based on excellence in the Participation in Government high school course.
