CAROGA — The Caroga Historical Museum will hold an old-fashioned contra barn dance and ice cream social on the museum grounds at 145 London Bridge Road today from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Anita and Patrick Mason and the Cornbread Dance Band will provide the music and calling. Anita teaches and calls each dance, and Pat’s guitar keeps the feet moving with fiddle tunes, jigs and reels.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes for dancing on the grass and bring their own chairs.
Ice cream sundaes with Stewart’s ice cream will be available for purchase. The museum complex is open every Thursday through Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. through Aug. 25. Several buildings will be open during the dance as well.
