The Johnstown Little Football League and Rogers Family teamed up to host the first trail run on Aug. 11, at the orchard, a fundraiser for the JLFL fall season.

The event started at 9 a.m. followed by a kids one mile run at 10:15. About 50 runners followed the course, which traced the orchard and into the woods, traversing up some steep inclines and descending back into the orchard.

Christopher Murphy of Johnstown had the best the best time, followed by Jeff Klingbeil, second, and William Hernigle, third.

Race organizers were Shelly Simmons Mollica, Holly Livingston and Jon Swartwout.

“Stay tuned for next year because we plan on making it bigger and better. We want at least 100 runners and more activities for kids and adults. We will bring back the Kick-Pass-Punt contest for everyone and maybe even the dunking booth,” said Mollica. The race will be in mid- to late August of 2020.
