Towpath nature walk set for Wednesday

FORT HUNTER — Patrick Clear will lead a nature walk along the towpath of the old Erie Canal and on the bank of the Schoharie Creek at Schoharie Crossing, 129 Schoharie St., on Wednesday, at 6 p.m. He will identify flowers and teach about edible, medicinal, poisonous and invasive plants.

Clear is an earth and environmental science teacher with 20 years’ experience leading nature walks in the region. He and his family own and operate Alpacas At Clear View Farms in Fonda.

Attendees should gather near the visitor center .

The series will continue on Sept. 4 when environmental educator George Steele will be at the site to present “Mammals: Tracks and Traces.”
