AMSTERDAM — Alpin Haus, the Northeast’s largest, family-owned outdoor recreation retailers, has been named one of the 2019 “Top 50 RV Dealers in North America” by RVBusiness magazine, who also selected Alpin Haus as one of its five special Blue Ribbon honorees, according to a news release.

Representatives from Alpin Haus accepted the designation at the 2019 RV Dealers Association International Convention/Expo at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino on Nov. 13. Alpin Haus owns and operates RV stores in Amsterdam, Saratoga, and Port Jervis.

“The Alpin Haus team is thrilled be recognized as one of the RV industry’s leading dealers by RVBusiness magazine,” said Andy Heck, president of Alpin Haus. “Alpin Haus is particularly honored to receive the top five Blue Ribbon designation, which speaks to our long-standing commitment to providing outstanding customer service and helping each family find the right outdoor recreation vehicle for their lifestyle.”

To identify the list, RVBusiness magazine began harvesting qualified nominees in from RV manufacturers who nominated dealer partners based on practices pertaining to consumers, staff, marketing, charitable endeavors and overall business procedures. Those dealers were invited to complete the program’s extensive application and an expanded panel of independent industry insiders met to review all the applications and select the RVB Top 50.

“Our panel of judges was about as intently engaged as we’ve ever seen in completing their evaluations and final selections. There were some dynamic debates among the judges regarding the dealer finalists, and rightfully so,” RVB Top 50 Administrator BJ Thompson said. “We saw evidence of dealers placing additional emphasis on service technician training and pressing for even higher levels of customer satisfaction. The judges clearly had difficulty getting the list down to just 50, so those who made the grade even further to receive Blue Ribbon designation this year should be particularly proud.”

In addition to being recognized as one of the top RV businesses, Heck was also awarded the 2019 James B. Summers Award at the 2019 RV Dealers Convention. Nominations for the award, which was established in 1986, are submitted each year to RVDA’s board of directors, which chooses the honoree by a secret and written ballot.

Board members praised Heck for guiding the association through the economic turmoil of the recession and for operating a dealership “that should be a model for all dealers.”

“It’s a great honor to receive this award, but none of the great things Alpin Haus has accomplished would have been possible without the hard work and dedication from everyone on our team,” said Heck, who served as a former RVDA chairman. “Our business is located in such a close-knit community and our staff does a tremendous job, which allows us to give back and continue working hard on behalf of all of our great customers in New York.”
