Liberty appoints Brumley board member

AMSTERDAM — Liberty ARC announced the appointment of Kim Brumley to the Liberty ARC Board of Directors as its newest member.

Brumley is a lifetime local resident, who comes to the Liberty ARC Board with many years of financial management experience, and has a proven track record in leadership.

Brumley has served as the Secretary-Treasurer of Liberty ARC’s subsidiary, New Dimensions in Health Care, since 2017.

She worked at the Amsterdam School District for 14 years. She initially served as the treasurer/tax collector, then moved into the business manager position, where she had oversight of all financial activities of the school district with an annual operating budget of $65 million. She recently retired from the Amsterdam School District and is working part-time as the director of employee relations for the city.

Brumley holds a bachelor of arts degree in business management and economics from SUNY Empire State College. She’s also a member of the MCT Board of Directors, New York state Government Finance Officers Association, New York state Association of Tax Receivers and Tax Collectors, New York state Association of Business Officials and she served as the treasurer for the Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County board of directors from 2010 until 2015.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be named a member of the board of directors for Liberty ARC,” Brumley said. “I know how important Liberty ARC is to people with disabilities. My brother, George, has been very well-served in the Liberty ARC program, and I am so grateful for this organization. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to contribute to the mission of an organization like Liberty ARC.”
